ABOUT

Seonyoung Youn is an interdisciplinary researcher and designer specializing in fiber, polymer, and textile science. She holds a BFA in Fashion Design from Parsons The New School, an MS in Textile Science from Seoul National University, and a PhD in Fiber and Polymer Science from North Carolina State University. Her research focuses on textile technology for health monitoring and well-being, with a recent focus on a digitally knitted robotic device. She has over five years of industry experience, having worked as a researcher at KOTITI Testing & Research Institute, a senior researcher at the Korea Textile Trade Association (KTTA) in South Korea, and a design intern at Uniqlo’s headquarters in Japan.
